| Tough Guy Erotica | ||
One day I looked up and realized that I had written a whole lot of erotic fiction for anthologies and magazines. I thought I'd put together a collection of those stories myself. Then I realized I'd written even more than I thought, and that I had enough stories for three different collections. Each book has a selection of previously published stories, some from long-forgotten magazines and websites, as well as a few new stories. My favorite, if I have to admit, is Tough Guy Erotica. These are my stories about construction workers, bears,
cops, delivery men, and other hunky types. It's a funy, sexy collection. |

| I've had a lot of fun writing erotic romance lately, and that comes through in the selection of stories in Romantic Erotica. What makes something romantic, you might ask? I think it's about the happy ending, and about the romantic connection between the two guys, over and above the hot sex.

| Pledge Class and Other College Boy Erotica | ||
| College boys are one of the most frequent subjects of gay erotica, and I certainly have a collection of stories about them. They can be on or off campus, or even out in the wide world, but they're all hot and horny and ready for fun! The title story is one of my very favorites, about a fraternity initiation with a couple of surprising (and very sexy) twists.

| I spent five years working as a project manager on various shopping center construction sites, and the hard -working, hard-bodied guys I saw around me every day were the subject of some of my most intense fantasies. From the shirtless carpenters to the beefy laborers, there was plenty of guy candy.
I loved their macho posturing, and after a few months I was able to give and take with the best of them. When Cleis asked me to edit a second anthology for them, based on the title Surfer Boys, how could I refuse? I've built a literary career around a sexy Hawaiian surfer. But I knew that I had to broaden the reach of this book, so I encouraged some terrific writers to send me stories of surfer boys around the world-- from Australia to the Jersey shore, from Florida to a little island off the coast of Tunisia. It's a very sexy book! |

The story I wrote for Island Boys, "Lomi-Lomi Massage," is a little bit of a spoiler... because it takes place a while after Mahu Vice, the fourth novel in my series, which won't be published until August, 2009. I never pledged a frat in college, though I did go to parties at a bunch of them. (It was the 70s, and they were still serving grain alcohol punch, among other things.) I remember going to a "blue movie" night at Sigma Alpha Mu, where the brothers shot mayonnaise out of squirt bottles as a woman and a donkey had sex. Needless to say, "Pledge Class" in Frat Sex 2 is all fiction. But it was sure a lot of fun to imagine! | |

Florida, a hurricane, and a golden retriever-- all elements of my own life-- come together in "Storm Report," in which a homeowner is rescued by a house-repairing hunk when he's knocked out during a storm. Read it in Ultimate Gay Erotica 2008, another of the great Alyson anthologies. | |

I spent two summers in Nice, France, trying to write novels, and the story "On The Beach at Nice," which appears in Tales of Travelrotica for Gay Men from Alyson, has a lot of the Riviera atmosphere I soaked up during those months. | |

I loved living in New York-- but by the time I left Manhattan for Miami, I was ready to leave. Writing "Rounding Third," which appears in Alyson's collection Best Gay Love Stories: New York City was a way for me to return to those days. Interestingly (at least to me) this wasn't a piece of erotica at first. But looking back on it a few years after it was written, I saw the erotic undercurrent and was able to bring it to the surface easily. | |

I really enjoy a good romance as much as a sexy piece of erotica, and my story, "Mi Amor, Mi Corazon, Mi Cielo," is ultra-romantic. My agent had suggested I write a proposal for a gay romance for Kensington Books, and this story is essentially the first chapter of that book. When Kensington didn't like it, I tweaked it a bit for Best Gay Romance for Cleis. | |

I wrote a story called "The Summer of the Hippie" for Alyson's Summer Flings-- but sadly, it was not accepted. So I made a couple of minor changes, and voila! The story was accepted for this Zane anthology, Flesh to Flesh. | |

story, "To The Northern Highlands" was scheduled for the second half of Distant Horizons, a two-part
anthology from Haworth Press edited by Greg Herren, but with Haworth's demise, the future of that anthology
is uncertain. I'm sure I'll be writing more stories soon! |
